Starting a blog

Abandoning the perfect website for one that actually exists.

It's about time I had my own blog.

In the past two years, I've made no less than three failed attempts at a blog. Each time, I have been crippled by perfectionism, a weakness of mine that rears its ugly head every time I work on a personal project. I become far more critical of code I have complete control over, and I won't hit publish on my own work until everything is flawless.

Well, today I hit publish on a site that feels like it's held together by duct tape and a rusty spoon. This hunk o' junk supports exactly the amount of layout and style required to display a few short paragraphs for this very entry. Anything more would probably look hideous.

But unlike all those other failed attempts to create something immaculate, this site actually exists.

Take that, perfectionism!
